AIR began in 2023 when a St Ayles Skiff kit was kindly donated by John Henderson who had recognised the remarkable achievements of coastal rowing. David Skea, a generous local businessman allowed the club to use a unit he owned to build the skiff in and it will be  launched in August 2025 at Rosskeen, on the shore road between the two towns.
